Webcam Chat Etiquette: How to Be a Great Viewer
Live cam is a shared space and a working environment at once. A little etiquette goes a long way — you get a warmer welcome, and the community stays healthy.
In public rooms
- Read the rules before you type.
- Say hello and engage, don't just lurk silently and demand things.
- Don't spam the chat or demand attention for free.
- Respect the model's boundaries and tags.
In private shows
- State your interests clearly at the start.
- Respect stated limits — always.
- Don't record, screenshot or share anything.
- End politely when you're finished.
Never do this
- Ask for personal contact details or meetups.
- Pressure anyone for something off-platform.
- Try to haggle over the performer's income.
- Behave in a way you wouldn't want filmed yourself.
Why it matters
Etiquette protects performers and improves your experience. It is also the difference between a model who remembers you fondly and one who blocks you. Related: webcam chat safety.
